Official Club Outing - Long Beach Shoreline August 2026
The Sultans Car Club of Long Beach was started by students at Jordan High School during the height of Southern California car culture in the late 1950s and early 1960s. After pausing during the Vietnam War era, original members revived the club in 1990, growing it into an active organization that hosts major annual charity events and classic car shows. Today, the club has about 40 to 60 members, and it’s amazing what such a small club can accomplish! This was their first year at this beautiful new location. The car show took place on the grass around the lighthouse with an amazing view of the marina. The layout creates numerous areas and perfect spaces for displaying and parking all the automobiles attending the show.
A majority were Kustoms, of course, representing all American automakers from the 1940s through the 1960s. The quality was incredible, with brilliant paint schemes, shiny chrome, and all the things that make a high-level Kustom. Also on display was a large and diverse selection of classic cars and trucks from 1975 and earlier, along with hot rods and a few muscle cars.
Not many Oldsmobiles, but lots of club members! Under a bright blue sky, with a fresh ocean breeze, cool music, and a festive atmosphere for the whole family, the show was going very well. Along the main path were several food and ice cream trucks, various vendors, the official Sultans booth and raffle prizes, community and law enforcement agencies, and car clubs, all welcoming and interacting with the crowd.
